Announcing two Division Six events in July and August 2022

I. Annual Division Six Rail Fanning Event Saturday 09 July 2022

Each year the Rio Grande Division has held a self-guided railfanning event along the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF)’s Southern Transcontinental mainline followed by lunch at Pete’s Restaurant in Belen. 2022 will have another Section added to our timetable. Members are invited to take their own time on their own Saturday morning schedule ranging from East of Mountainair west to Laguna Pueblo to watch trains, take photographs and generally enjoy the day. We will assemble at 1:00 PM in the parking lot of Pete’s Restaurant in Belen across the street from the Harvey House for a no-host NO BUSINESS MEETING lunch. While along the tracks, remember your manners and Do Not Trespass on Railroad property and respect the privacy of the Pueblo and its residents (who are our neighbors here in New Mexico).

II. Popular Vote Modeling Contest & Photo show Saturday 13 August 2022

Our August Division Six Meeting will be held on Saturday 13 August 2022 at the New Mexico Rail Runners N-Scale Layout site at the Eastdale shopping Center at Eubank and Candelaria NE in Albuquerque at 2:00 PM. The short meeting will be followed by a display and judging of models built by NMRA Members and Prospective Members. Judging will be by popular vote of the attendees and is intended to bring out the personal modelling efforts of our members and interested friends. There will be plenty of NMRA membership information available. Photos taken by members of the July Rail Fan Event may be displayed by those who are willing to show their work (no judging). There will be sign up sheets for our members to spend a little time at the 2022 State Fair publicizing the Division’s 2022 Rails Along the Rio Grande Train Show.
